When finalizing our deal on a motorhome with General RV in Wixom, the final numbers were different than the first set of paperwork we received. I called to receive an explanation of this. Brian, the finance guy gave me a verbal explanation of the numbers. I asked him to re-do the quote in writing and send it to me and he became irritated with me for even asking for this. I explained that all of my years working for an attorney has taught me to get everything in writing. He said, "well, it comes down to a trust issue." (Like I'm supposed to just trust his WORD.) So, I again told him that my job has taught me to get everything in writing. He said, "listen young lady....I've been doing this for 30 years and I've always kept my word and never had any problems, and blah blah blah. I was so ticked at him and his attitude by the time we hung up that I called my salesman back and insisted on having someone else do the closing for me. They did accommodate me on that. But, then there was an issue after the purchase with the Secretary of State with my title. After a phone call to SOS, the lady in Lansing explained that when the dealer submitted the original paperwork, there was an error in the numbers, so it all had to be corrected. Hence a delay in receiving the title to the motor home.

The service department has not been any better in getting things done and done right, let alone getting things done in a timely manner. They do not return phone calls. They make promises about getting back to you and then don't keep those promises. They tell you things are fixed and then you find out they are not. It's like pulling teeth trying to get little things fixed. We have burned up the tank of gas they gave us when we did our deal just by taking it back and forth to them to get things fixed right!

Other than our salesman, Bob Bianchini, who is/was awesome, this has been an experience I would like to forget. I don't believe I would go back to General RV to make another purchase.

We drove our travel trailer home two weeks ago. The finance guy called yesterday and said the credit union we signed with isn't taking us now.

There was a "snafu" in his words. Then he went on to say that while talking on the phone with this CU, there was another one by him that heard his conversation. (how does that happen?). This CU said they'd take on our loan and lower the rate by 2%.

(how does this happen?). I am calling the first CU on Monday to see what the "snafu" is.

Chances are General will be driving up to our place to get their camper! So, there's a camper in our yard we don't own, but have insurance on.
